Maternity Care Center
We are building a Maternity Care Center in Purongo in northern Uganda
A trip to Uganda left a lasting impression on our lives. Despite poverty and limited resources, we were met with unbelievable warmth, helpfulness and open hearts. These experiences touched us deeply and awakened in us the desire to give something back and offer our support to the local people.
In many parts of the world, childbirth is a moment of joy and safety. In Uganda, however, it still represents a significant risk for many women and their children.
Uganda is among the poorest countries in the world. Particularly in the north, in regions like Purongo, everything necessary for a safe birth is lacking. Every year, dozens of women die here - not because they couldn't be helped, but because help is often too far away.
Through our non profit association, we want to establish a birth center in Purongo. A place where expectant mothers can receive comprehensive prenatal check ups and free deliveries under hygienic conditions.
Our goal is to reduce maternal mortality, so that fewer children lose their mothers in their first days of life and do not have to start their lives as orphans.
